Now that you’ve gotten to know the relationships of these scientists
a little better, assess your knowledge by completing the dialog boxes
in a comic strip that features Crick, Watson, Lederberg, Pauling,
Wilkins, and Franklin.
The biographies and timelines provided in the menu on the left can help you to complete this activity. Download and print the comic strip by clicking here. Turn in the completed comic strip to your teacher. Assignment: Compare a pair of scientists from the relationship map found on the second page of this activity. Open and print your worksheet by clicking here. Listed on the worksheet are several other types of rivalries. Choose one to compare with a rivalry between the DNA scientists. Research the rivalry you choose to learn more information about it. Make a note on the worksheet of where you find your information. Check your assumptions. Are they really similar? Note a few ways they are similar or why they might be less similar than you first thought. Do not change your selection. The purpose of this assignment is to show that you can analyze and compare the relationships. Talk it over with friends or family members. On the worksheet, report on the feedback you received.
