the previous lessons, you learned about the lives, accomplishments
and relationships of early DNA scientists and about the Scientific
Method. Now, let’s look at the distinguishing qualities or characteristics
that made scientists successful in their field. In this lesson, you’ll
learn about some basic personality traits and determine which of those
traits may–or may not–be conducive to a career in
scientific research. The objective of this lesson is to explore common personality traits and decide which traits are basic and/or essential to being a successful scientist. At the end of this lesson, you’ll be presented with a list of personality traits and asked to write a short, one-page essay explaining whether each trait helps or hinders individuals pursuing a scientific career.
