Spend some time thinking about how personality traits may have played a significant role in the careers of the scientists featured in this website. Respond to each of the questions in the worksheet. Be sure to make note of any traits which are controversial or confusing and discuss with your teacher. Recall previous scientists you’ve studied in other classes and explore other types of scientific careers to see if you can find additional evidence to support your opinion of a particular trait. Be sure to record your findings on the worksheet. If you were presented with a short list of personality traits, would you be able to offer your own opinion as to how each trait influences a scientific career? Check your understanding. Ask your teacher for the assessment activity associated with this lesson. You will write a one-page essay, based on five (5) traits identified by your teacher. Be prepared to use examples from DNA scientists’ biographies and accomplishments to support your opinions.
